Palm trees can be purchased for cheap at any arts and crafts store in the school projects section. The first step is to cut out a base for your trees to be mounted to. Next, you should make the height of your trees uneven by cutting of some of the plastic off with a wire cutter.

Next, drill starter holes into your base either using a hand held drill or a rotary tool, then hot glue the trees into the holes.

Cut some pieces of polystyrene to represent rocks and glue them to the masonite. Paint them a dark shade of gray, then after it dries, drybrush them a lighter gray.

Flock base, wait 20-30 minutes before tapping off excess flock.
