I used old computer cd's as the template for size on these craters.

Draw in your circle from your template, and cut it out of your blue or pink foam. You then need to make the rough cuts to get the general idea of what the crater will look like.

You then want to cut out the details and carve as much into it as possible to make it look abused and worn.

The next step is to cover up the middle hole that is inevitable. We used a plain old piece of duct tape.

You will then need some sort of gel medium or plaster (both available at your local craft or hobby store) to 'rough up' the duct tape bottom.

Paint your gel or plaster so it matches the detail of the rest of your crater.

When everything is dried you can paint your craters with the standard methods (base, wash, drybrush, and seal) and then admire your work!

Approximate time to complete (excludes drying time) 20-25 minutes per crater.
