Welcome to BattletechTerrain.com, the #1 source for information and products relating to 3-dimensional terrain and scenery for Catalyst Game Labs' Classic Battletech Gaming System, the game of 31st century combat where mechanical behemoths known as battlemechs are pitted against each other in the futuristic battlefields of the inner sphere.

Battletech, at its heart, is a tabletop game played on a hexed grid map sheet. As soon as 3-dimensional miniatures were released for Battletech, the need for realistic terrain became apparent. As great as hexed-sheet Battletech is, it's inherently flawed. Line-of-sight always becomes an issue causing abundant arguments to arise during the game.

3D terrain eliminates this and other problems related with standard hex sheets and truly brings your tabletop to life. As long as 'mechs are limited to the hex grid style of movement the game will never truly be realized at its full potential.Instead of map sheets and hexes, the game is played using a tape measurer and straight edges. No longer using hexes, one to three inches is equal to one movement point. Less board game "board" more wargame fun.

We offer the ideas and inspiration to create your own terrain.

*Note*

All terrain is created using a scale similar to 6mm or 1/300 which is closest to Ral Partha's original 1/285 (z-scale) used to create the first lines of battlemech figures. The scale has become blurred over the years with figures like the Atlas and the Berserker and that's why 6mm was chosen to provide a static baseline
